From the 13th until the 15th of November a lot of different international yacht builder and suppliers gathered at METS. De Drait was attending METS in order to receive information about possibilities in SMART- developments for our fleet. In 2019 we will start with a pilot project.
As the owner of the renting fleet of Yachtcharter De Drait, which consists of more than 80 boats, it is interesting and compulsory to measure which and when maintainance is needed.
In this manner we can also analyse important information from distance, e.g. the current capacity of batteries. Moreover, we can ensure to recognize important maintainance right away. Furthermore, GPS will be intergrated in all boats which enables the service team to see the precise location of a boat. The chart plotter and the Victron Charger will be directly linked to each other. Therefore, guest can read information easily important boat characertistics.
ZF from Friedrichshafen introduced a new SMART trend for leisure boating. For instance the trend to control a boat via a joystick. A pilot project is already boating in Italy. The department Innovation and Development of ZF is located there, too. However, boating with a joystick will not only be more comfortable for beginners but it is also already used and integrated in merchant shipping.
